Comparison with other services

How we compared

The data was collected on 4 November 2026 from services’ public pages, app store listings and media articles. We did not use every service from the inside, so features we could not see are marked “?”, which means “not verified”, not “no”. Services change fast, so if something is out of date, it is our mistake, not intent.

The SvitloPulse column is filled conservatively: where our capability is limited it says “partly”.

What exactly our column says

• Push notifications: ✓ in browsers. This is Web Push: it works in Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari. On iPhone and iPad only after adding the site to the Home Screen. There is no native app with push.
• Widgets: ✓ badge, website card, Home Assistant. There are no native iOS or Android home screen widgets. The widget generator.
• Address: partly. We look up a queue by address only for Kyiv and Dnipro (via Yasno); elsewhere you pick the queue by hand.
• Public API: ✓. Open, with no key. API
• B2B: partly. There are keys, quotas and webhooks issued by hand. There is no billing, self-service or SLA, and licensing of the primary data still has to be agreed. For developers
• History: ✓. Up to 400 days by region.
• House on the map: ✕, deliberately. A map of individual houses and single signals would be a map of people and targets, so we aggregate to queue and region.

Where we are stronger

• History and “time travel”. Oblast states at a 5-minute step up to 400 days back. A time slider over the map we confirmed only in AlarmMap.
• Schedule and signals together, with confidence shown. We show not only the plan but how far it can be trusted, and plainly mark “No data”.
• An open API with no key. At alerts.energy the API comes with a subscription ($2 a month or $20 a year). With us keys are needed only for higher quotas and webhooks.
• Badges, a website card and a “ping” sensor. The badge, iframe and Home Assistant work without sign-up. A sensor is one cron or curl line.
• Discussions with automatic moderation for every queue, region and city.
• Calendar. A queue’s planned outages can be subscribed to as an iCalendar feed.

Where others are stronger

• Address and house. Promin shows a house on the map and fully covers 6 oblasts and 19 regional centres. alerts.energy and svitlo.day look up a queue by address. We look up an address only in Kyiv and Dnipro, and our map works at queue and region level. It is a deliberate safety choice, but for many people it is an inconvenience.
• Native apps and widgets. We have a website (installable as an app), browser notifications and a bot, but no native apps or home screen widgets. The iOS app “Svitlo”, PowerOff with Apple Watch and lock screen widgets, and Svitlo Ye on Android have what we do not.
• Hardware sensors. Svitlobot has its own sensor network (an old phone on a charger, an ESP board, a router ping) and a map where each marker is a home. We now have a ping sensor too (router, Raspberry Pi, ESP), but we do not show individual sensors on the map: a deliberate privacy choice.
• Official apps. DTEK, Yasno, regional operators and “Kyiv Digital” are the first source: they know your address and contract. We only gather their schedules.
• Coverage. Not every region has a usable schedule. Where there is none, we do not guess.
